Another site was found back in Leicester, when negotiations with "Railtrack"
were entered into about taking on the leases of the old parcel offices at
the midland Station, and turning it into a real ale bar, the negotiations
were protracted and during this time due to circumstances and ill health in
Barry's family Bill went alone with the Leicester Station complex and formed
his own company, with Barry's wife Liz buying Bill's shares in Steaming Billy.
Bill went on to successfully open "Time" bar and Barry and Liz concentrated
on the Cow & Plough, eventually selling the Robert Catesby. During this
time the tie on The Vaults in Leicester had come to an end, and with it both
Bills and Barry's involvement. The Steamin' Billy Brewing Co then in 1999
contracted the beers out for a greater exposure
and a larger range of beers.
| In 2003 Billy & Barry joined forces again, while Bill's wife Cindy designed a new Restaurant in the old milking parlor at the Cow & Plough. After looking to expand the Steamin' Billy brand Billy & Barry found a suitable outlet to host the Steamin' Billy beers and in July 2007 opened their fifth venture between them, The Paget in Loughborough. | ||
| ....followed by The Western in Leicester in November 2007. Brewer Bill reverted to Director of Brewing and oversees brewing, where the beers are currently brewed in Burton-on -Trent. | ||
